On June 6, Sotheby’s Important Design auction will present a curated selection of exceptional design works from the last century, including chapters of International Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, American Studio, and Contemporary design.
The Design sale will offer a wide selection of French creations, representing different periods: from Art Nouveau to Art Deco, the 40-50s, and the 70s to contemporary design. These include Émile Gallé, Claude Lalanne, Jean Prouvé, Jean-Michel Frank, Serge Manzon, Louis Majorelle, André Arbus, Serge Mouille and Charlotte Perriand.

Sotheby’s market defining auction Bertoia – Featuring Masterworks from the Kaare Berntsen Collection includes some of the most important works by the artist to ever come to market. The gallerist Kaare Berntsen is credited with introducing Bertoia’s work to Norway through a series of ground breaking exhibitions that began in Oslo in 1972 until Bertoia’s death in 1978.
