Last week as I walked into the Rabih Hage Gallery at 69-71 Sloane Avenue in London I was taken by their new display of František Vízner's cut glass bowls. Each bowl is carved from a slab of optical grade glass creating a final object that seems to glow from the inside.

Interior design practice, Design Research Studio, under the direction of Tom Dixon, have created the interior for the new restaurant at the Royal Academy of Arts. The Succulent House addresses the pressing global issue of freshwater quality and supply as but one possible force to drive design ingenuity and improve environmental performance. This approach allows us to speculate on the organizational, spatial and atmospheric potential of water collection on the American house.

The fanciful cocoon-like house has yet to be realized. The sale of Villa Sculptura started, Wednesday 5 January 2011. The sales price starts at 1 million Euros, depending on the living area and the finishing.
