The tenth Architectural Review Awards for Emerging Architecture recognises excellence in realised work by architects under 45. As part of the celebration of the Awards RIBA is hosting a series of talks by eight of the winning and commended architects.
The Cassiopeia is a large glass topped dining table with cold rolled aluminium legs and bevelled edges. The dramatic sculptural base is formed from three laser cut cold-rolled aluminium pieces braced together in a structure reminiscent of elliptical orbital patterns. The tabletop is a triangular piece of toughened glass with curved edges.
The Skase teacup set is based on the idea of symbiosis. A close, prolonged association between two or more different organisms of different species that may, but does not necessarily, benefit each member.
