The 'meltdown series' by Tomprice are created using the same techniques applied to different materials.
The 'pp sheet' chair is created by heating and pressing a seat-shaped former into a bundle of crumpled polypropylene sheets. The sheets begin to liquify as they come into contact with the heated former, then set in the shape of the seat as it cools, creating a contrast in form and texture to the remaining sheets.

Renowned designer Ron Arad is currently creating a unique 360° interactive installation for the Roundhouse, Camden as part of Bloomberg Summer. Once opened, the space will provide a backdrop for new work and performances from invited artists, designers and musicians in an exciting series of events curated by the designer.
At the entrance to this years Design Miami/ Basel, visitors are greeted by an outdoor installation of sensory furniture and sculptures created by spanish designer Nacho Carbonell. In this video by Luka Dogan for Co. Design he introduces and explains the work, which is entitled 'Playground Closes at Dusk'.
