Copenhagen

Tom Fruin's latest work, 'Kolonihavehus', was installed in Copenhagen recently. Using a plethora of found Plexiglas – roughly 1,000 reclaimed scraps of the material – Fruin’s Kolonihavehus takes its name and inspiration from Copenhagen’s ubiquitous kolonihavehus; a modest garden shed intended to provide state workers with refuge from the city’s cramped living conditions.

Standing in the Royal Danish Library’s plaza, Fruin’s vivid installation includeds a computer controlled light sequence created by Nuno Neto, a sound installation by Astrid Lomholt and featured a collaboration with CoreAct, the Copenhagen based performance company headed by Anika Barkan and Helene Kvint.
