Cristina Grajales and the designers they represent are busy this year at Design Miami/. They are showing at various venues across the city, from Design Miami/ itself to the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens.
Below is a summary of their programming.
We are pleased to participate in this year's Design Miami, taking place from December 5th - 9th. We will be exhibiting new work by Sam Baron, Pedro Barrail, Christophe Côme, Sebastian Errazuriz, Hechizoo, and Suzanne Tick, as well as pieces by Gael Appler, John Paul Philippe, and Michele Oka Doner.
Design at Fairchild
Cristina Grajales Gallery and the Fairchild Troopical Botanic Garden present the inagural exhibition of Design at Fairchild, Sitting Naturally. Sitting Naturally will showcase a collection of seating designed by a selection of Cristina Grajales Gallery’s internationally renowned artists. Inspired by the Fairchild’s lush, tropical landscape, each artist is creating two benches to be placed throughout the Garden’s 83 exquisite acres. The exhibition will feature the work of Gael Appler, Sam Baron, Pedro Barrail, Christophe Côme, Michele Oka Doner, Sebastian Errazuriz, and John Paul Philippe.
The Chicken Chair at Casa Lin
The Chicken Chair by Sebastian Errazuriz will be featured in this year's exhibition at Casa Lin, Out-of-Site, running from December 6th - 9th. Errazuriz's work tends to incorporate the existential themes of life and death, and this chair is no exception. "I see the Chicken Chair as a simple but beautiful furniture piece, an excersize in awareness, a chair that literally comes to life and assumes a new function literally pocking, pecking, and croaking questioning at us."
Tutti Frutti at Benetton
Sam Baron and Fabrica have created the Tutti Frutti collection, celebrating the world of Benetton through the distinctive mood of the Miami Beach style. Benetton's DNA is routed in these striking sculptures of glass and fresh fruit compositions that celebrate the color, librative spirit, and diversity of the Fabrica designers.
