“Yesterday marked a banner moment for the design department. Collectors responded to the solid cross-section of important 20th and 21st century objects, furniture and ceramics with enthusiasm in a marathon day of sales. We are proud of the stellar results achieved for the Betty Lee and Aaron Stern Collection where many works by Hans Coper and Lucie Rie realized prices that were more than double the high estimate. We look forward to continued growth in the New Year.” Alexander Payne, Senior Director and Worldwide Head of Design, Phillips.
