Phillips London Design Auction realised a total of £6,109,375 / $9,286,250 / €7,147,969 selling 87% by lot and 83% by value.
The top two lots of the evening were Diego Giacometti's 'Torsade' table, formerly in the collection of Stratis Andreadis, Paris, and Marc Newson's 'Orgone Stretch Lounge'. Both lots sold for £248,500 / $377,720 / €290,745. The latter was part of an important suite of early works by the designer which included a prototype 'Alufelt Chair' as well as 'Event Horizon Table'. The group of three totaled £553,500 / $841,320 / €647,595.
