'Seeing Glass,' presented during Dutch Design Week 2013, is a series of glass objects created in collaboration by Rotterdam-based designers Brit Van Nerven and Sabine Marcelis.
Through the use of materials, colour and layering, unexpected effects are created which play with ones visual perception and the surrounding space.
One of the first exhibitions in 1999 by Galerie VIVID was called Rotterdam Centraal. This exhibition presented an overview of work by designers and artists that worked in Rotterdam.
Now almost 15 years later we again bring a new interesting overview.

Small writing-desk with tubular brushed nickel-plated structure, finish mat transparent paint, with tubular cross bars under the top. Top in bended mat painted plate in the colours taupe and dark brown.
The paint surface is made by hand with a brush. The technique highlights the sign of the brush strokes and makes each piece unique and unrepeatable.

Practical openings on each side make it easier to handle. The unique dovetail joint on each corner is exclusive and highlights the workmanship of the solid wood and exalts its qualities.
The new Earthquake 5.9 collection recalls the Emilia earthquake of May 2012 that affected many businesses in the area. It’s a collection of furnishing items and coverings in marble and onyx, created using hundreds of fragments of ‘quake-struck’ slabs to create something beautiful, to inject life back into something that had been totally destroyed in the space of a few seconds.
