The Royal College of Art end of year exhibition is now on, presenting the culmination of two years work for postgraduate students at one of the world's most prestigious creative education institutions.
This year designer, architect and author Nigel Coates is retiring as head of architecture at the Royal College of Art after 16 years. Here, he speaks to Crane.tv about his practice and design philosophies, including the one piece of advice he sees as crucial for students and designers alike.

Last week saw the Christies sale of 'Important 20th Century Decorative Art & Design', featuring 208 works of collectible design from across the world, including furniture by Jean Royére and German master Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe, Art Deco from Etienne Drian, Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann, Jean Dunand and contemporary pieces from Ron Arad and Maarten Bass.

This week Sofia is celebrating contemporary design, hosting the third annual Design Week at venues across the city. Curated by product designer Valentin Vodev, design writer and editor Adriana Dimitrova and advertising guru Maria Todorova, Sofia Design Week has a large program of events featuring design from across the globe.
At the entrance to this years Design Miami/ Basel, visitors are greeted by an outdoor installation of sensory furniture and sculptures created by spanish designer Nacho Carbonell.
